Both he and Heder were alumni of Brigham Young University, and their short film was screened in 2003 at Slamdance Film Festival. “Peluca” later developed into the feature-length cult classic that spawned “Vote for Pedro” t-shirts and one iconic solo dance sequence. When the independent film became a blockbuster success, Heder thankfully managed to negotiate a cut of the film’s profits.:
