Veteran artist Rick Baker won this first competitive makeup artist for his work on "An American Werewolf in London." To date, Baker holds the record for this category, with 11 nominations and seven wins for the Academy Award for Best Makeup (which in 2012 was renamed to Makeup and Hairstyling).:
