[Answer] According to the book of Matthew, many are called, but few are what?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "According to the book of Matthew, many are called, but few are what? "

...Like the two before it, the parable in this chapter featured the chief priests and elders as its central characters. Jesus used the three parables to respond to the religious leaders challenging his authority. In the Wedding Feast parable, God, referred to as the king, invites those closest to him (the religious leaders) to attend the feast (join the Kingdom of God). They decline the offer, triggering the king to invite everyone else (the Gentiles), who accept the invitation. Among the wedding guests is found one who decided to come, but not dressed in the appropriate wedding attire. He is thrown out of the party for wearing his own righteousness, and not accepting salvation through Jesus. Jesus closes with, "For many are called, but few are chosen." By the time Jesus concluded with the parable, the religious leaders were outraged because they knew he was talking about them. They wanted to arrest him, but feared the crowds who thought Jesus was a prophet.
