Her family had owned a pasta factory in Salerno, so in 1912 she persuaded him to set up a similar business in the Mission District of San Francisco. Quaker Oats now owns Rica-A-Roni. In 1912 three Sicilian immigrants started Prince Spaghetti on Prince Street in Boston. In 1928 Ettore Boiardi opened a factory to keep up with orders for his spaghetti sauce. Prego was introduced in 1981.
