In 1965 Johnny Rivers recorded a Folk-Rock version. The song has been done by several international artists in various languages over the years. "Masters of War" and "Talkin' World War III Blues" were 1963 recordings by Bob Dylan. "The War Drags On" was a song about the Vietnam War recorded by Donovan in 1965.
