Step 1 : Introduction to the question " The camel is the national animal of which country? "
...
The camel is the national animal of Saudi Arabia. Arabian camels, also known as dromedaries, have only one hump that can store up to 80 pounds (36 km) of fat. The hump give the camel their legendary ability to travel up to 100 (161 km) desert miles without water. It is also known as the “ship of the desert”.
Before horses or vehicles to bring material and resources, camels were used as the primary traveling source resulting in the animal being chosen as the national animal. The color of the camel is mild brown, cream and tan colored. They can run up to 40 mph (60 kmh).
Camels live in deserts and hot weather found mostly in North Africa and the Middle East. The current number of camels in Saudi Arabia and Emirates is almost 15 million according to the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD).
The animal’s height is approximately 7 feet (2.2 m) and then 10 feet (3.1 m) in length. The average weight is 1500 pounds (680 k) with an average lifespan of 40-50 years. Today the International Union of Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has classified the camel as endangered.
