Pico de Orizaba, which hasn't erupted since 1846, is a part of the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt that crosses the country. Along with the peaks Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, it is one of Mexico's three volcanic peaks to feature summit glaciers. In the Indigenous Náhuatl language, the peak's name is Citlaltépetl, which means "Star Mountain.":
