The first spooky incident in the Lake Michigan Triangle happened in 1891, when the Thomas Hume schooner and all its crew mysteriously disappeared in the lake. Other ship incidents happened in 1921, when 11 people disappeared from the Rosa Belle, and in 1937, when a boat captain disappeared from a locked cabin. In 1950, a plane crashed into the lake, and the wreckage has never been found.:
