[Answer] Who holds the Guinness World Record for fastest land-speed record?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "Who holds the Guinness World Record for fastest land-speed record?"

...Black Rock Desert in Nevada, U.S.A., is where Andy Green climbed into the cockpit of the "Thrust SSC" vehicle. It was October 1997 and this was the culmination of a month of disappointing near-misses in Green and his team's quest for the land-speed record. The goal was to break the sound barrier. Once he began the run, Green faced conditions that changed each time he attempted to grab the record. As the car accelerated, the automatic aerodynamics systems made adjustments to keep the car grounded and stable. Though Green couldn't really see from his seat in the cockpit, he did notice the on-board machometer slide past the Mach 1 indicator. When he completed his runs, he'd achieved a new land-speed record of 763.035mph, or Mach 1.02. Source: GuinnessWorldRecords.com
