Tonsillitis in Children - causes symptoms and treatment of Tonsillitis

What is Tonsillitis?

Tonsils are Limphayid glands present in the throat. They will fight with the microbes enters into the mouth with air from outside environment to protect throat. They appear to be larger at young age. They will reduce in size as age increases. But sometimes the tonsils are involved in the infections. This is state is called “Tonsillitis”. This problem is more prevalent in the 10-15 year-old children.

Symptoms of Tonsillitis:

1. Throat Pain

2. Fever
3. Swollen glands

This is due to the accumulation of infectious bacteria on the glands of tonsils.

Different types of Tonsillitis:

Acute and chronic tonsillitis are two types of different tonsils glands diseases.

1. Short period and severe type of tonsils disease is called Acute type .
2. If this disease repeatedly attacks then this will turn into chronic tonsillitis

The following types of infectious tonsillitis are recently recognized.

1. Superficial Tonsillitis: Mucas layer may burn when this type of tonsillitis attacked patients.

2. Follicular Tonsillitis: The green dots appear on the tonsils. Swelling, redness throughout the rest of the follicular film may appear.
3. Suppurative Tonsillitis: Tonsils tissue and surrounding may become infectious disease may spread to various parts like ear and nose. Usually only one tonsil is get effect with the disease. The patient may suffers from lot of pain.

4. Acute Parenchymatous Tonsillitis: Redness of the inflamed tonsil may observed.

5. Acute Membranous Tonsillitis: Follicular tansilaitis -some extracts from the tonsils As they fade to a plaque on the tonsils.

Treatment to Tonsillitis:

We should give complete rest to patients and put them away from others.

1. Throat swab drug should be accorded to them to find the micro-organisms.

2. Much of this disease is caused by a micro-organism called Streptococcus Tonsillitis. Therefore, with the drug penicillin we cure this disease. Patients who are allergic to penicillin can take erithromaisin. This antibiotics must use atleast 7-10 days.
3. Light food and warm fluid must be surved to the patients. Often the patient feel comfortable gargling.

4. Pain and fever severity may be reduced by aspirin.

Surgery of Tonsillitis :

Through tonsils are the glands which protects throat, Sometimes these may be removed due to the severe infection which can't be cured by drugs and madicine.
