He graduated from Princeton University before studying law at the University of Virginia and earning his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University. Wilson’s management of Princeton earned the attention of Democratic Party leaders, who encouraged him to run for political office. Wilson’s political career, once launched, was meteoric.
