United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Sweden, and Romania have not adopted the euro. Some countries have opted out, while others haven’t been given the all-clear by the European Commission and the European Central Bank. They must meet certain “convergence criteria” to do so. Being that the euro is the second most-used currency in the world, with it changing hands between 341 million people daily, it’s definitely a plus to be part of the Union.:
