Step 2 : Answer to the question "What are cherubim?"

Winged Angelic Creature - The word “cherub” often conjures up images of fat, naked baby “angels,” fluttering around with bows and arrows. But the cherubim the Bible describes are much more awe-inspiring. Sometimes referred to as “living creatures,” Ezekiel describes them as human in appearance, but with four faces and four wings each. Their faces are those of a man, an ox, an eagle, and a lion. They sparkle like burnished bronze. Ezekiel says their wings were spread out above and they moved in a straight line, with two wings touching the wings of another angel and two wings covering their bodies. Their appearance was like burning coals of fire. The sound of their wings was like the sound of many waters or like an army. The ark of the covenant is adorned with two cherubim made of hammered gold, one on each end of the mercy seat. Large cherubim also decorated Solomon’s temple and in heaven, the living creatures sit on each side of the throne and day and night they never cease to fall down and worship God: “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”:
