Step 2 : Answer to the question "What was Starbucks originally going to be called?"

Cargo House - Starbucks are so widespread that it seems like there's one on every corner. That's not exactly true, but they do have over 24,000 stores spread across 70 countries. Despite the brand's pervasiveness, or perhaps because of it, many don't give much thought to its name. What, after all, is a Starbuck, and what does it have to do with coffee? Not much, it turns out. The company's founders toyed with many names early on, and were most seriously considering Cargo House, but it just didn't have the kind of catchy ring to it that they were looking for. When a consultant told them that he liked words that had a \"st\" sound, they went back to the books — literally. They found Starbo, a mining town in the Mount Rainier area, on an old map, which made them think of Starbuck, the first mate in \"Moby Dick.\" Although, in their marketing, the company romantically paints this name as an allusion to the high seas and the early coffee traders who navigated them, one of the founders has said that this was not the intention at all. They simply liked the way the name sounded.:
