Step 2 : Answer to the question "What is the largest manmade island in the U.S.?"

Harbor Island, Washington - Port Seattle, Washington is home to the largest artificial island in America. Built in 1909 out of 24 million yards of dredge earth from the Duwamish River by the Puget Sound Bridge and Dredging company, Harbor Island floats on Seattle’s Duwamish River leading to Elliott Bay. As part of the Port of Seattle, the island is used for industry and commerce, as well as by fishermen to catch crabs and shellfish. At the time of construction, Harbor Island was the world’s largest artificial island at 350 acres (increasing to 745 acres in 1967). It has since been decidedly beat out by numerous larger artificial islands on the world stage — for instance, the likes of Holland's Flevopolder, which stands at a whopping 374 square miles. But it remains the largest in America.:
