Ronda, Spain - The towering Puente Nuevo bridge separates the city of Ronda, in southern Spain, over the Guadalevin River below. The bridge was first built in 1730 to merge the gap between cities El Mercadillo and La Ciudad. Unfortunately, the first iteration of the bridge was faulty and collapsed in 1741 killing 50 people. It was rebuilt and finished in 1793 by renowned architect Domingo Lois de Monteagudo. He made certain that the structure and base were secured with additional arches. The bridge now stands at a staggering 322 feet, serving as an impressive structure important to the history of Spain. :
