Step 2 : Answer to the question "Where is this rocky landscape?"

Paint Mines, Colorado - Even in a state famous for its rocky landscapes, the Paint Mines stand out. Located northeast of Colorado Springs, the Paint Mines make for a striking sight, showcasing brilliant shades of pink and orange. Unique rock formations including sandstone hoodoos, or \"fairy chimneys,\" can be found across this park. They were created by water and wind erosion, forming top-heavy structures that look like mushrooms. Nine thousand years ago, Native Americans used clay from within the grounds for pottery, war paint, and horse paint, according to Atlas Obscura. The Paint Mines are carefully protected, as the spires themselves are fragile; visitors are required to stay on trails. But it is well worth the trip to view so many vibrant colors at every angle.:
