Delhi, India - Much like with the Taj Mahal, Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi, India, looks more like a palace than someone's final resting place. The tomb was built to house the remains of Humayun, the second Mughal Emperor of India, and was built between 1565 and 1572. According to Cultural India, the emperor had died in 1556 after a fall down some stairs, so the tomb was commissioned by Bega Begum, Humayun's wife. A major restoration project returned the tomb to its former magnificence in 1993, when it was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.:
