Step 2 : Answer to the question "Which state's capital is Jefferson City?"
Missouri - Although it's not the most populous city in the state — that title goes to the newest Super Bowl champ, Kansas City — Jefferson City is nonetheless an important hub for Missouri. Named in honor of Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States, Jefferson City was chosen as the capital in 1821, even before it was incorporated. According to the city's website, when the general assembly moved there in 1826, there was little more to the town than a general store, a hotel, and a capitol building. That's certainly not the case today. These days, it's home to the governor's mansion, the Supreme Court building, the state archives, and various other government agencies and departments. It's also the site of many historic attractions and institutions, including the Cole County World War I Memorial, the Lewis and Clark Monument at the Lewis and Clark Trailhead Plaza, the Missouri Farm Bureau Log Home, the Missouri State Penitentiary (and State Penitentiary Museum), and Lincoln University. :
