Step 2 : Answer to the question "Which U.S. city was once called Pig's Eye?"
Saint Paul, Minnesota - The city of \"Pig's Eye\" is better known today as Saint Paul, Minnesota. Its former name came from its earliest settler, Pierre \"Pig's Eye\" Parrant, who made the area's first land claim in 1838, after which the settlement became known as Pig's Eye Landing. Fortunately for all, the name didn't stick. In 1841, a Roman Catholic missionary named Lucien Galtier moved to the region and established a chapel to the apostle Paul, which led to its current name, Saint Paul. The city became the capital of Minnesota eight years later, in 1849, and the state was granted admission to the Union less than a decade after that, in 1858. Parrant's nickname can still be found throughout the city, though: There's a Pig's Eye Regional Park and a Pigs Eye Lake, and for a time, there was even a Pig's Eye Brewing Company. :
