Florida - Withlacoochee is the name of two separate rivers in the state of Florida. One of these rivers is located in central Florida, while the other is located farther north. The central river is known as the “Crooked River,” alongside which is the longest paved rail-trail in the state — the 46-mile-long Withlacoochee State Trail. Originating in the Green Swamp and taking a couple of turns before heading northwest to drain in the Gulf of Mexico, this river is said to be named after the northern river of the same name.
