The Geisel Library, named after Audrey and Theodor Seuss Geisel (also known as Dr. Seuss), is located at the University of California San Diego. The university turned to architect William Pereira in the 1960s to design a functional yet attention-grabbing building. Pereira, eschewing classic library design, opted for something he felt resembled hands holding a stack of books, fitting for a library.
