[Answer] In 1600s England, when was Mothering Sunday celebrated?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "In 1600s England, when was Mothering Sunday celebrated?"

...Though Mother's Day celebrations were part of ancient Roman and Greek cultures, the more recent history of the day dates to England in the 1600s. Early Christians held a celebration of motherhood on the fourth Sunday of Lent. They would first attend a prayer service in church to honor the Virgin Mary. Children brought flowers and gifts to the festival as a tribute to their mothers. The celebration took on the name "Mothering Sunday." Servants, apprentices and other employees of manors and businesses took the day to visit their own mothers. The custom died out in the 19th century, only to be reborn after World War II.
