[Answer] In a parable, Jesus compares the kingdom of heaven to a merchant looking for what?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "In a parable, Jesus compares the kingdom of heaven to a merchant looking for what?"

...In the book of Matthew, Jesus tells a trilogy of short parables to describe the kingdom of heaven. He compares it to a treasure, hidden in a field. A man found the treasure and covered it back up. Then, filled with joy, he went and sold all he had, in order to buy the field. Another parable compares the kingdom of heaven to a pearl. A merchant was in search of fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went and sold all he had, and bought it. In the third parable, Jesus explains that the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea. It gathered fish of every kind. When the net was full, the men drew it ashore and sat down and sorted the good fish into containers. But they threw away the bad fish. “So will it be at the close of the age,” Jesus said. “The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace.”
