Step 2 : Answer to the question "Which U.S. state drinks the most wine per capita?"
Idaho :
If you love a good vintage, you’d be far from the only one in Idaho. Idahoans top any other state as the largest consumers of wine per capita — on average, they drank 1.19 gallons per person in 2016, according to a study by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism that covered state sales of alcohol from 1977 to 2016. (Second place? Delaware with 0.73 gallons per person.) You might be surprised that Californians drank about half the amount of wine as Idaho per capita, despite being home to some of the world’s most famous wine regions. However, with such a large population, they easily took the lead for overall consumption of wine with 148,347 gallons, followed by Florida (71,538 gallons), New York (67,598 gallons), and Texas (59,177 gallons).
