Step 2 : Answer to the question "Where is this tower?"
Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan - The Bayterek Monument was built in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, in 1997 to commemorate the transfer of the capital from Almaty to the city in which it would stand (then called Astana). The tower was constructed with lots of symbols and homages to folklore from nomads living in the Kazakh Steppe. The golden sphere that rests on top of the structure is meant to resemble an egg nestled among tree limbs. This is in reference to a tale about a bird who laid its egg of “happiness and beginnings” within the secret tree of life. Visitors can choose to travel to the top of the tower and view the modern cityscape of Nur-Sultan from the perfect spot.:
