[Answer] Stephen was appointed to what position in the early church?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "Stephen was appointed to what position in the early church? "

...The office of deacon arose early in the life of the church. The number of believers was increasing daily, and in Acts 6, the apostles were torn between caring for the physical and spiritual needs of the people. So they appointed seven wise men to take charge of serving the congregation’s physical needs. One of those men was Stephen, who would go on to become the church’s first martyr. Stephen is described as being “full of faith and of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 6:5) and “full of grace and power” (Acts 6:8). The apostles prayed for and laid hands upon the deacons, setting them apart to do ministry. The deacons were guided by the wisdom and obedience to the Spirit. Stephen himself did great wonders and signs among the people. However, some argued with Stephen because they were jealous of him. Acts 6:10 says, “But they could not withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking.” They secretly instigated some men who falsely accused him of blasphemy, which eventually resulted in his death.
