The Ponce no longer welcomes hotel guests (it is now the centerpiece of Flagler College), but in its heyday served such dignitaries as the Rockefellers, the Vanderbilts, Theodore Roosevelt, Ernest Hemingway, and Mark Twain. And if the ghost stories surrounding the hotel are to be believed, some of these guests may have overstayed their welcome.:
