Master Hung Chi-Sung of Taiwan decided to paint a giant image of a Buddha as a means of keeping the spirit of peace alive and praying for reconciliation. He initially finished the painting in May 2018, but in June 2019 went back to add a point of gold on the Buddha's heart, symbolizing the opening and connection of hearts around the world. The painting measures 12,086.59 square meters, or 130,099 square feet — a little bigger than a Manhattan city block.
