Step 2 : Answer to the question "Which screenwriter wrote "Roman Holiday" but did not receive credit at the time of its release?"

Dalton Trumbo - “The best thing I know is to do exactly what you wish for a while.” For a long while in Hollywood, the writer of this astute aphorism did not get his due credit on work for the film in which it was featured. Dalton Trumbo, whose own life story was adapted into a 2015 film starring Bryan Cranston as the famed screenwriter, wrote the dear story of two lovebirds on a “Roman Holiday” (1953). At the time, Hollywood had tragically blacklisted Trumbo as a communist sympathizer, labeling him as one of the Hollywood Ten for refusing to name names before the House Un-American Activities Committee. He was sentenced to a year in prison, and wrote using fronts or aliases while in self-exile in Mexico with his family. One of those fronts was Ian McLellan Hunter, who before he himself was blacklisted in Hollywood, offered to be Trumbo’s front writer for “Roman Holiday” and passed a share of the profits onto Trumbo. Hunter was awarded a Best Screenplay Oscar for the script, along with co-writer John Dighton. Trumbo posthumously received an Oscar for his work on the film nearly 40 years later, and in 2011, the Writers Guild of America West righted a wrong 58 years in the making by restoring solo “Story by” and shared “Screenplay by” credits to Trumbo on the film itself.:
