Chocolate fudge cake - Who could ever possibly refuse a slice of chocolate fudge cake? Well, what if it’s not just one slice, but an entire, gigantic chocolate fudge cake that you are forced to eat all in one sitting, all by yourself, in front of the entire school. That is the decided punishment for one ill-fated student, Bruce (Jimmy Karz), in “Matilda” (1996), when overbearing headmistress Miss Trunchbull wants to teach her pupils a lesson to never steal her prized dessert. To curb the humiliation for poor Bruce, the magical Matilda (Mara Wilson) cheers him on, inspiring her peers to help raise his spirits, too, and he somehow manages to finish the whole confection. In an oral history for “Newsweek,” Karz reminisced on filming that scene take after take — and what it was like to eat all that cake. “After a while, it became more of a chore than anything. It's not like it scarred me for life. I still enjoy cake.”:
