[Answer] Who was Uriah in the Old Testament?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "Who was Uriah in the Old Testament? "

...It was spring, the time reserved for kings to go out to war. For no explained reason, David decided to stay in Jerusalem, while sending his soldiers off to fight. As he strolled on his rooftop, he saw a beautiful woman bathing and instantly lusted for her. He discovered she was the wife of Uriah the Hittite. This information should have stopped him in his tracks, because Uriah was part of the king’s loyal elite fighting forces. But David was undaunted and sent for her and seduced her. After some time passed, she sent word to him of her pregnancy. Now David was in a true jam. How could he hide his misdeeds? He cooked up a scheme and sent for Uriah to return home from the war, hoping to blame the pregnancy on Uriah. When his attempt to cover up his wrongdoing failed, he sent Uriah back to the battlefield with a letter instructing his top commander, Joab, to set Uriah in the forefront of the hardest fighting, and then draw back from him, so he would be struck down and die. After Uriah’s death, David married Bathsheba, but the baby did not survive. Later, they had Solomon, who continued the royal line to Jesus.
