Scotland - In 1958, a farmer on the island of South Ronaldsay — located in the Scottish archipelago of Orkney — noticed a few stones that had become exposed on his land. As he dug to explore, he uncovered one of Scotland's most important archaeological sites, a Neolithic Stone Age chamber containing a number of human skulls. It is believed to be 5,000 years old. A total of 16,000 human bones have been found at the site, as well as the talons and bones from 14 white-tailed sea eagles, hence the name given to the tomb. The significance of the eagles remains unknown. The same farmer later discovered a 3,000-year-old Bronze Age building on his land. Both sites have become key for historians to learn about early life on the Orkneys. :
