Step 1 : Introduction to the question " Out of Elizabeth Taylor's seven husbands, which one did she marry twice? "
...
Richard Burton was Elizabeth Taylor's 5th and 6th husband. Married in 1964 for the first time, "the Burtons" as they were called, created a dazzling film and stage partnership. In 1966, they played warring husband and wife in Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Taylor won her 2nd Oscar at the time.
During the marriage, their extravagance was like nothing that post War World II had ever seen. Burton bought Taylor the world’s largest diamond for a then staggering 1.1 million pounds, as well as other jewels, furs, old master paintings, and a luxury yacht.
Taylor seemed wholeheartedly committed to Burton; but, things changed in the early 1970s. Their marriage turned into a real life Edward Albee story from hell. They divorced in 1974; remarried in 1975, but parted for good a year later. They remained friends until Burton died in 1984 from a brain hemorrhage.
Widely regarded as the tempestuous love of Taylor's life, Burton only married (and divorced) her two times.
