Located near the Utah border, the rugged, 280,000-acre park is home to fantastic sandstone formations that wind and time have eroded to create otherworldly shapes. The most famous formations within the park are the Coyote Buttes, but White Pocket is the second-most-visited site. The “pocket” here refers to a small area of land that’s noticeably different from its surroundings. While white is the area’s dominant hue, some outcroppings are also striped orange, yellow, and red.
