Sean Bean - When filming “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” (2001), actor Sean Bean was so afraid of flying that he climbed a mountain daily rather than take a helicopter to the film site. Bean, who plays Boromir in the film, was especially afraid of helicopters, so he would make the trek up the mountain every day, after riding a chair lift part-way. Imagine Bean, dressed as Boromir and wearing armor as he plowed through a few miles of snow. Unfortunately, director Peter Jackson didn’t complete the mountain scene’s shoot in one go, so Bean was forced to summit the mountain on foot on more than one occasion. Jackson said of Sean Bean in a behind-the-scenes clip, “Every day, as we all flew over, we would look down and there'd be this tiny black speck climbing the cliff.”:
