A friend recommended visiting the therapeutic waters of Warm Springs, Georgia, and Roosevelt liked it so much he visited nearly every year after. In 1927, Roosevelt started the Warm Springs Foundation, dedicated to the treatment of polio, which eventually led to creation of the March of Dimes.
