Jane Austen - Jane Austen began writing "Sanditon" just months before her death in 1817. The unfinished novel tells the story of a fictional up-and-coming English seaside resort. Austen had only completed 11 chapters when she died, leaving a large portion of the story incomplete. The existence of Austen's unfinished final work was revealed by her nephew James Edward Austen-Leigh in his 1871 biography of Jane. "Sanditon" was finally published in fragmentary form in 1925.
