[Answer] Who was the oldest delegate at the U.S. Constitutional Convention?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "Who was the oldest delegate at the U.S. Constitutional Convention?"

...When the fledgling colonies of America decided to hold a Constitutional Convention, all of the states, with the exception of Rhode Island, appointed a total of 70 men to attend the convention. Some could not, or would not, accept the invitation but in all, 55 delegates met in the first of the Constitutional Convention meetings. Once the Constitution was written and all revisions done, it came time for the delegates to sign their work. When it came to putting pen to paper, however, only 39 of the delegates actually signed the document. They were a diverse group, with the youngest being Jonathan Dayton, age 26. The oldest in the convention was Benjamin Franklin. At age 81, he had to be carried into the sessions in a special chair because of his "infirm" health. Source: Archives.gov
