Step 2 : Answer to the question "What is the oldest city in Bavaria?"

Augsburg - Known for its fairytale-like castles and iconic festivals such as Oktoberfest, Bavaria (officially “the Free State of Bavaria”) is Germany’s oldest and largest state. Around 13 million people live in this southeastern corner of Germany, which was first settled by Celtic tribes in the Iron Age. Bavaria’s largest city is Munich, but Augsburg claims the title of the oldest city in the region (and the second-oldest city in Germany overall). Augsburg was founded in 15 BCE as a Roman town that allowed inhabitants to control the waterways. When Rome fell, the town was destroyed, but people continued to inhabit the area. It eventually became a Free Imperial City, or a city that governed itself, in the 15th century. The world's oldest social housing complex, the Fuggerei, is still in operation and is a must-see for visitors to Augsburg.:
