The true northernmost point in the lower 48 is Angle Inlet. In fact, the only way to travel to Angle Inlet from the U.S. by car is to go through at least one Canadian province. If you don’t have a passport, your only option is to take a boat across Lake of the Woods to get there. Once you make it to Angle Inlet, there isn’t too much to see. There is, however, a post office with a sign noting that it is the northernmost point in the contiguous U.S. :
