In 1939, the Grand Ole Opry moved to an elegant performance hall, but rowdy crowds wore out their welcome. In 1943, the Grand Ole Opry found a home at Ryman Auditorium. In 1974, the Opry built its own 4,400-seat venue. Each winter, the show returns to the Ryman for a series of shows.:
