Step 2 : Answer to the question "Where is the deepest point on Earth?"

The Mariana Trench - The deepest point on Earth can be found in the Mariana Trench. Located east of the Mariana Islands in the Pacific ocean, the Mariana Trench plummets between 35,756 and 36,070 feet at its deepest point called the Challenger Deep. The estimated depth varies by study as a definitive depth is difficult to measure from the surface. A manned submersible to the seafloor for an exact measurement and exploration is not yet possible, as the water pressure exceeds eight tons per square inch. The Mariana Trench is a diverse habitat for marine life, with some of the most bizarre creatures ever seen existing in its great depths including anglerfish and sea cucumbers. These deep-sea animals are built to withstand the tremendous water pressure and darkness of the trench. Others have evolved to feed off chemicals released by the volcanos deep below. The Mariana Trench was made a protected marine reserve by U.S. President George W. Bush in 2009, barring it from mining and most fishing.:
