Step 2 : Answer to the question "What was the White House originally called?"

The President's House - It makes sense that the President’s house was actually called "the President’s House" when it was first designed. Construction began on October 13, 1792, and was completed over an eight-year period. Crafted of sandstone, the White House as we know it earned its most famous moniker from the whitewash applied in 1798. The first President to live in the White House was John Adams. The famous house has undergone incredible updates throughout the years, adjusting a bit with each President. Updates like electricity and the internet were added, as well as more lush features like the Oval Office and libraries. Of course, a complete remodeling was forced by the British in 1814 when they burned the building to the ground during the war. The building was rebuilt from the ashes, with some charred walls still utilized. Its first flower garden was brought in by John Quincy Adams and a pool was brought into the mix by Franklin Roosevelt. :
