[Answer] What was the name of the first computer search engine?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "What was the name of the first computer search engine?"

...Before Google, before Yahoo, and before Ask Jeeves, there was Archie. Archie was the internet's first search engine, created in 1990 by Alan Emtage, a student at McGill University as a class project. The search engine was initially named "Archives," but was shortened to "Archie" by omitting the "v." Contrary to popular belief, there was no connection to the Archie comics. Despite this, other early search engines that followed Archie were named Jughead and Veronica. They were all eventually replaced by Yahoo! in 1995 and Google in 1998.
