Constructed on the remnants of the long dilapidated Pier 54, Little Island first opened in 2021 and is an artificial island park west of Manhattan on the Hudson River. The structure is built on a base of 132 tulip-shaped columns built into the riverbed. Largely funded by fashion designer Diane von F├╝rstenberg, Little Island covers 2.4 acres of elevated land and includes trees, walking paths, a small stage, three concession stands, and a 687-seat amphitheater.
