The Old Mission in Santa Barbara was the 10th Californian mission founded by Spanish Franciscans. Two major earthquakes almost destroyed the mission, first in 1812, and again in 1925, but the Queen of the Missions endured the reconstruction. Self-guided tours of the Old Mission are available daily; there are 15 acres to cover that include the church, a historic cemetery and mausoleum, a nine-room museum of historical works and artifacts, and several rose gardens.:
