She has many adventures, including tea with the March Hare and the Mad Hatter, meeting the disappearing Cheshire cat, getting advice from a blue caterpillar smoking a hookah and seeing a croquet match in the Queen's Croquet Ground, played with flamingos as mallets and with hedgehogs as balls.
