...1. Pork 2. Curly tail meat 3. Oinkmeat 4. Hogsmeat Pigs have been kept for their meat since at least 5000 BCE. Due to their omnivorous diet and rooting way, man has found their husbandry easy and their nature beneficial. Pig meat is made into ham roasts, gammon, bacon, pancetta and sausages just to name a few edible forms. The name pork comes from the French term porc. Again like other meat names it comes from the Norman translation after their conquest of 1066.
