Winston Churchill - Winston Churchill was invited to speak at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri in 1946 after the end of World War II. The speech he gave, entitled “Sinews of Peace,” is considered one of the most important in his career, as it signified the beginning of the Cold War and contained the well-known phrase, "An Iron Curtain has descended across the Continent.” When celebrating the 20th anniversary of that historic speech, Westminster College moved an entire 17th-century London church, St. Mary, the Virgin Aldermanbury, to its campus. Badly damaged during the war, the church was rebuilt according to the original design of its architect, Christopher Wren. Today, America’s National Churchill Museum is located beneath the church and stands as a permanent tribute to the world leader.:
